Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero
has revealed that he dyed his hair silver just to win a bet with his brother.
Aguero showed off his eye-catching new look before scoring in this month's Manchester derby win over United.
And now the striker has lifted the lid on why he chose the garish haircut, telling Sky Sports ahead of City's trip to West Ham on Saturday: 'He challenged me, "Don't you dare do it before the game against United".
'And I did it. My son likes it and is happy.
Aguero even joked he has outdone another Premier League silver fox, joking: 'I'm better than (former Middlesbrough striker Fabrizio) Ravanelli! More beautiful, no? I like it.'
The Argentine has scored 11 goals for Manchester City this season, thanks in no small part to being fully fit for the first time in a while.
Aguero had surgery on his knee in April in a bid to be fit for the World Cup in Russia, and he claims it has given him a new lease of life.
'I had been suffering for a long time, had a lot of medical treatment and physio here at the club. I had some discomfort, and then at the end of last season I decided to go for surgery before the World Cup,' he said
'I felt pain on a training session and I wasn't seeing any improvement of my discomfort, so we decided to get surgery. I wanted to arrive well to the World Cup and now I'm very happy because I don't feel pain at all.
He added: 'Now, I'm very happy, hopefully, injuries can stay away from me and I just want to enjoy my last years at Manchester City the best way I can and, especially, I hope I can win more trophies which would be great for the club.'
