Arsenal started off their Carabao Cup
clash against Tottenham on the wrong foot.
Aaron Ramsey looked to pull a fast one on his opponents at kick-off by trying to bypass Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
and play in Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
In doing so, however, the Welshman played it straight into the path of Son Heung-min and Spurs gained possession immediately.
Some Gunners took to Twitter to say that they believe that moment set the tone for the entire match.
Spurs went on to win the game 2-0 through goals from Son and Dele Alli and this early lack of focus from Ramsey was a pre-cursor for what was to follow.
In response to a video showing Ramsey giving the ball away, one Twitter user wrote: 'Blimey, if ever a KO set the tone!'
While another said: 'I've never and never will see this again at any level of football.'
Gunners were suitably unimpressed by the early Ramsey blunder – and the final result will have done little to raise their spirits.
Worst kick off ever #ARSTOT
