And according to Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte
, Arsenal's new technical director Edu has held talks with Everton's agent Gilmar Veloz to assess whether a move to the Emirates is feasible this summer.
Interestingly, Edu joined Arsenal after leaving his role as general coordinator of the Brazilian national team.
There is believed to be interest from Italy and Spain for the Brazilian winger but Arsenal are keen to secure a winger this summer, giving them the edge.
The 23-year-old's current deal at Gremio lasts until December 2022 and includes a £90million release clause.
But it is believed he will be attainable for a fee closer to £45m, handing Arsenal a chance given their budget restrictions.
Gremio are in action against Bahia on Wednesday and Everton has gone on record to say he cannot confirm he will be in attendance with an offer on the table from an unnamed club.
'I have a proposal, I cannot name the club,' the winger told Radio Grenal
'I do not guarantee that I'll play against Bahia on Wednesday, we'll see.'
Arsenal manager Unai Emery has made a new winger a priority signing this summer and Crystal Palace's Wilfried Zaha appears to have been the primary target for some time, despite the Eagles' unwillingness to sell their star man.
Lille winger Nicolas Pepe is another name in the frame for Arsenal but there has been no concrete offers for the Ivorian.
