Madrid have lost their top goalscorer in the last five seasons after Antoine Griezmann
finally completed his £108million move to Barcelona
Remarkably the Frenchman finished as Atletico's top scorer in all competitions in each of his five seasons in the capital.
After signing from fellow La Liga
outfit Real Sociedad for £24m in July 2014 Griezmann went on to score 25 goals in his debut season, also claiming a Spanish Super Cup winners' medal.
The 28 year-old scored an incredible 32 goals in the 2015/16 campaign and finished top scorer at EURO 2016 before netting 26 goals the following term.
The forward bagged 29 goals in 2017/18 and capped off the season by winning the Europa League with Atleti and World Cup with Les Blues.
Griezmann plundered a further 21 goals last season before finally earning a move to the Spanish champions.
Barcelona have been courting the Frenchman for the past two summers and have now finally landed their man after paying his release clause in full.
The forward has signed on the dotted line for Barcelona on a five-year deal, which includes an eye-watering buy-out clause of £717m.
Atletico are furious they have been forced to accept the £108m bid and vowed to take legal
against Barcelona and the player after claiming agreements were in place last season.
Griezmann departs Atletico having become the club's all-time leading goalscorer with 133 goals in 257 appearances
