Dimitar Berbatov has posted a comical video on Instagram of him saving his daughter from being struck by a stray football.
The slow motion clip shows the former Manchester United
striker rebounding the ball off a wall inside his family home before stretching to control it as it flies precariously close to his daughter's head.
The Bulgarian was renowned for his delicate first touch on the football field, and looked relieved to pluck the ball out of the air as it headed towards his daughter.
The young girl continues to play with putty while sitting at the table, completely unaware of her topless father's desperate lunge.
Berbatov's post read: 'When you are there for your kid #Football'.
The former Bayern Leverkusen star also gave fans a reminder of his agility by completing the bottle cap challenge.
The 38 year-old scored 243 goals in 605 club appearances, including 56 goals in 149 games for the Red Devils.
Berbatov won three Premier League titles and two League Cups during his time at Old Trafford, winning the Golden Boot in the 2010/11 season.
He also won the League Cup with Tottenham in 2008; the North London club's most recent major trophy win.
