Brazilian wonderkid Rodrygo rules out joining Real Madrid in January

Rodrygo says he will not make his £40million move to Real Madrid
early, the Brazilian teenager insisting he will stay at Santos until the summer.
Real agreed a fee for the 17-year-old striker last June to sign him for the 2019-20 season, but there had been talk about the Spanish giants moving the transfer forward.
Rodrygo, who turns 18 in January, came fourth in the 2018 Kopa Trophy standings for the world's best young player. The honour was won by World Cup winner and PSG
star Kylian Mbappe
However he told Brazilian sports news website Gazeta Esportiva
: 'I don't believe there is a chance I will leave for Madrid early. It's agreed that I'm going in July. That agreement is between Santos and Real Madrid.'
Rodrygo, the youngest goalscorer in the history of Santos - the club which produced Pele and Neymar, among others - says he is focused on playing for the Brazilian club.
He said: 'I'm focused on Santos. When I get there, I will think about it. For the moment I just want to stand out with Santos.'
The teenager, whose full name is Rodrygo Silva de Goes, needed to remain at his current club until 2019 in order to satisfy the legal age requirement of playing professionally in La Liga.
He made his Santos debut at 16, and has since scored nine goals in 45 appearances, playing in 35 of their 38 league games in the recently completed 2018 season.
Rodrygo has signed a seven-year deal at the Bernabeu, where he joins fellow Brazilian wonderkid Vinicius Junior, signed for £38m from Flamengo.
