Mateo Kovacic has been tipped for a return to Inter Milan following the end of his loan spell at Chelsea
- with the Blues not keen to buy him and his parent club Real Madrid
also wanting to ship him out.
Kovacic made 51 appearances in all competitions for the Blues - some from the bench - but that has not been enough to convince Chelsea to shell out for him.
He has an option to buy in his loan deal from Real Madrid, but Chelsea are not expected to take that up, and Real Madrid cannot guarantee him playing time next season.
With that in mind, Tuttosport report that Inter Milan want to take advantage of the situation and bring him back to Serie A.
New coach Antonio Conte is said to be keen to work with the 25-year-old midfielder, and any move would likely be another loan with an option to buy at the end of it.
Inter Milan previously sold Kovacic to Real Madrid for £34m in the summer of 2015, but his value has since plummeted after three difficult seasons.
In the most recent campaign at Chelsea, he only returned two assists, and no goals - in 32 Premier League appearances.
