Barnes, an England Under-21 international, has come through the Leicester academy and enjoyed a breakthrough campaign, scoring a number of eye-catching and important goals.
Leicester are excited to see if he can repeat this in the top tier.
But there is major disappointment at West Brom, who had hoped to keep Barnes for the campaign as they sought immediate promotion back to the Premier League.
