
The man and woman, both 24, were lying on the ground on North Jog Road in West Palm Beach on Sunday evening when the incident happened.
According to WPBF News, the officer was patrolling the Apoxee Trail, a nature preserve, when he accidentally ran over the two skygazers who were on the road.
There is no suggestion the action was deliberate.
The man and woman were both taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

According to the West Palm Beach Police Department, the officer was driving a Ford Explorer at less than 10km/h.
The unnamed officer has been suspended with pay while an investigation is underway.
