Robert Huth quashes claims that he is about to sign for Derby County
because he has retired.
The former Leicester City defender responded to a tweet that said he was on his way to Frank Lampard's side.
Huth said on Twitter
: 'This literally couldn't be less true. I've retired! (I just haven't done an interview and cried about it).'
This appeared to be a sly dig at British tennis star Andy Murray who on Friday announced that the Australian Open could be his last tournament.
The Scot broke down in tears when he revealed the news and Huth's tweet on the same day might be linked.
The German defender only played one EFL Trophy match for Leicester City last season before being released in the summer.
The 34-year-old didn't officially announce his retirement after his contract expired and it now appears he has let everyone know.
Huth won the Premier League three times as a player, twice with Chelsea and once with Leicester.
